Swivel Caster Swivel Radius
- Distance from the center of the wheel or axle bolt to the edge of the swivel circumference.

 Offset
- Distance from the center of the attachment method to the center of the axle.
Mounting Height
- Distance from the rolling surface to the bottom of the unit.		 caster wheels Tread Width
- The width of the tread that contacts the rolling surface. ITW Plastiglide furniture casters are available in 7/8" nominal tread width. ITW Plastiglide institutional casters are available in 15/16" nominal, 1 ¼" nominal and 2" nominal widths.
Wheel Diameter
- Outside diameter of the wheel.


Caster Attachment Methods
ITW Plastiglide casters are offered with a broad variety of top portions, including friction ring stems, plain stems, threaded stems, and top plates. Other variations not included in this catalog are available. Please inquire.

Standard ITW Plastiglide wheel materials are:
  • Soft rubber tread/hard rubber core
  • Hard rubber tread and core
  • Conductive rubber
  • Polyolefin
Other wheel materials available include urethane, injection molded elastomer, and phenolic.

Wheel-Axle Assembly
- ITW Plastiglide casters are produced with a nut and bolt axle as standard in the following series: IL-40, IL-50, IM-31, IM-41, and IM-51.
Wheel Bearing
- ITW Plastiglide furniture and institutional casters feature self-lubricating wheel bearings produced from a specially formulated nylatron which is alloyed with additional lubricants. Conductive wheels are an exception, and feature sintered metal bearings.

ITW Plastiglide offers a wide variety of wheel bearing types including roller, flanged, Acetal, and plain bore.
Raceway Construction
- All ITW Plastiglide casters feature separate full-annular contact upper and lower bearing races. This construction provides optimum performance that results in strength, mobility, and years of smooth, quiet operation and trouble-free service.
Metal Finishes - Horn and bearing races are heavy-gauge, case-hardened steel.
Zinc Chromate is standard on the following series: IL-30, IL-40, IL-50, IM-31, IM-41 and IM-51. Nickel is standard on series FM-20, and FM-25.
